Fun is Good

All of these photos except one are from recent jobs.  I couldn't feel luckier to be in a profession where capturing joy and wacky moments is often necessary.  There's enough terrible stuff in the world to think about, and it is captured beautifully by many, many amazing and courageous photographers who do something I never could.  Call me wimpy, but I'll stick with stuff that makes me smile as long as I can get it.  A few more photos from these shoots can be seen here.

Portfolio Outtakes

Choosing photos for a final RCC portfolio is more difficult than one might think. It's all too easy to second guess and third guess and listen to other people and change your mind and change your mind again and then find some old photos that might be better etc. etc. Here are some shots that didn't make it to the final selection and haven't appeared here before. Felt like they deserved to see the light of day. Perhaps I'm just emotionally attached, it's true.

Penguin Exuberance

Chuck's assignment this week for our Advertising class was to create an iconic image that represents who we are as photographers and then use it to design a business card and post card in InDesign. Iconic image in a week? InDesign? Are they kidding here at RCC? No, actually, but somehow we all managed to pull it off. I am the first to admit my lack of design skills and would definitely use a professional for this sort of thing.
