New England, December

December in Connecticut is anything but predictable. Although my childhood memories are chock full of windshield scraping, driveway shoveling and frozen hair at the bus stop, it is important to note that sometimes the sun comes out. Cold, yes, but often there is beautiful intense light that's gone in a flash. I got to visit my Mom last week to get in the winter spirit. It's good to go home.

North Carolina, December

The holiday season whizzes past, but once in a while here the skies open up and snow quietly falls to the ground forcing us to slow things way down for a day or, if we're really lucky, two. I can't remember snow before Christmas in all the years I've lived here. Happy holidays everybody.
