January was full of surprises. The fact that I set foot in the Cape Fear Serpentarium in Wilmington, NC is one of them. Please forgive the snake photo, but it's a big breakthrough kind of moment for me. (Not a fan of snakes. Not at all.) A much more lovely surprise was when the little boy in the above photos tipped his hat to me at the end of the Fort Fisher Civil War Reenactment. 2010 seems like it's off to a good start.
