Before School Days

Sadly this building has been torn down since I took this shot at Carolina Beach in 2006. I love the shape of the building and the leisurely, vacation feel of the boardwalk here. Very glad to have been able to find this negative after returning the next year to find that the building is no more.

Best of First Year

This is one of my favorite photos from our spring semester during our first year. I had set up my medium format camera in our apartment and left it up for a few days hoping to be inspired and/or catch some crazy shadows on our neighbor's roof through our bedroom window. One morning as I was rushing in and out of the room getting ready for school, I came across this sweet foot hanging off the bed in a peaceful moment of slumber. I fired off a few shots as quickly and quietly as possible. Luckily, my model is kind and patient and did not mind me using this photo for projects.
